We awoke this morning in Maine. After arriving at our motel so late last night, we slept in abit this morning.
We drove to Cape Elizabeth near Portland. There we saw the oldest lighthouse in Maine. Very few lighthouses here are open to the public to actually go in and climb so we had to be happy to view it from the outside. It was breathtaking! What a perfect way to spend our 25th anniversary day! I wish I could show the 100+ pictures we snapped today but that would take too long. We couldn't stop taking pictures of the lighthouse near the cliffs of Maine.
At Maine's Welcome Center we picked up a magazine with coupons for motels. After last night's experience of not being able to find a motel we decided to look early for a motel. We stopped in Belfast, a city along the coast line, and finding everything full at 6:30 p.m. we got our coupon book out and called ahead to Bangor to a Ramada. They had only three rooms left and accepted our coupon for approx. $40. off.
It really has been a perfect day!!
Update on Dad: Today he had a heart cath with good news. He does not have any significant blockage to his heart, the clot in his heart is small and he did not have a heart attack. It still will take awhile for the clot to dissolve but we all praised the Lord for the good heart cath report. Thank you for your prayers.
